Madison police responded to a report of shots fired Friday night in the 4300 block of Britta Parkway, according to an incident report.

Police said they found a vehicle that someone had been shooting from and was possibly shot at. Multiple shell casings were found in and around the vehicle, according to the release.

One of the bullets hit a nearby residence where a mother and her children were sleeping, police said. There were no injuries reported.

Police took the vehicle involved as evidence, the release said.
