A man with a bandanna over his face robbed a north side bank Tuesday morning, Madison police said.

The robber passed a note to a teller at the BMO Harris Bank at 1202 N. Sherman Ave. around 11:40 a.m., officials said. The man then fled on foot with cash.

A police dog was brought in to try and track the robber, but the search was unsuccessful, according to a release.

The robber is described as a white man in his 30s to 40s, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, sunglasses and a gray bandanna over his face.
