Police: Parking lot purse thefts might be related

Madison police said two grocery store parking lot purse snatchings on the west side might be related.

A 78-year-old Middleton woman was loading groceries in her car outside of Copps at 261 Junction Rd. on Wednesday afternoon when a man ran by her cart and grabbed her purse. The man got into an older red SUV.

On Thursday, a woman was in the Woodman’s Food Market parking lot at 725 S. Gammon Rd. when someone reached out of an older red SUV and took her purse from her cart.

The robber is described as white, in his late teens to early 20s with spiked blond hair.
