Police: Officers respond to bogus call about shooting in Oregon

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in Oregon on Monday morning, but the report turned out to be fake, according to Oregon police.

Emergency officials received a call that said there was a shooting at a home in the 600 block of Heidi Way in Oregon at about 7 a.m. A caller said he and his brother had been shot and that the shooter was still in the house.

Oregon school officials were notified about the incident and the district took precautions to make sure students and staff were safe.

Officers responded, but upon further investigation, authorities determined no one has been shot and now believe the call was bogus.

Oregon police will consult the Dane County district attorney about possible charges against the caller.
