Police: Man who ‘took acid’ runs into traffic, tries to get into occupied cars
MADISON, Wis. — Police are investigating multiple calls reporting of an out-of-control man running in traffic on University Avenue near Highland Avenue around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday evening, according to officials.
The 20-year-old man was reportedly trying to get into occupied cars. He jumped on one car and moments later was banging on an apartment building while screaming something about drugs, according to an incident report from the Madison Police Department.
Officers located the man and struggled to bring him under control. He said “Let’s do drugs,” to the officers after letting them know he “took acid,” according to officials.
He also said he was sorry as officers took him to a hospital to get help. The man will be cited for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to the report.
