Police: Man uses ‘assault-style rifle’ to rob east side pizza place
Robber gets away with approximately $50
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police said a man brandishing an “assault-style rifle” robbed an east side pizza place Tuesday night before running away with some money.
The incident happened at Rosati’s Pizza in the 4900 block of Commercial Avenue just before 11 p.m. Tuesday.
According to police, the man walked in through an unlocked side door, displayed the weapon and demanded money.
Police said an employee handed the man approximately $50, and the robber left through the same door he entered the restaurant. Police efforts to use a K-9 to track down the man were unsuccessful.
Police described the robber was a black man between 18 and 21 years old. He was last seen wearing a a black hooded sweatshirt and a black scarf.
