Police: Man tries to rob clinic at gunpoint for medication
Ill. man arrested on tentative charges, faces extradition back to Wis.
MONROE, Wis. — An Illinois man was arrested for allegedly attempting to rob a clinic of medication at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, according to a release.
Monroe police were sent to the Monroe Clinic at 515 22nd Ave. around 4:40 p.m. for reports of a man who was at the clinic for an appointment and had displayed a pistol, officials said.
Employees told police the man demanded medication, but left after finding out that police had been called, according to the release.
No one was injured in the incident, and clinic staff told police the man was Antonio S. Buss, 29, of Lena, Illinois, and provided a description of the vehicle he was driving.
Monroe police contacted law enforcement agencies in Stephenson County, Illinois, and around 6:45 p.m., Lena police arrested Buss, according to the release.
Police said Buss was in possession of a pistol at the time he was arrested.
Buss is being held in the Stephenson County Jail awaiting extradition proceedings on tentative charges of attempted armed robbery, reckless use of a weapon and criminal trespass with a firearm.
