Police: Man pinned under vehicle in single-vehicle rollover crash
28-year-old not wearing seat belt was ejected from vehicle, deputies say
TOWN OF WASHINGTON, Wis. — A 28-year-old man was transported to UW Hospital for injuries he sustained in single-vehicle rollover crash between Monroe and New Glarus Saturday night, deputies said.
Green County and Monticello emergency crews responded to the N5700 block of County Road N in the town of Washington for reports of a single-vehicle rollover crash just before midnight, according to a release.
Deputies found Joseph M.G. Kutyna, of rural Monroe, pinned under his vehicle, officials said.
Investigators said Kutyna was driving north on County Road N when he entered the east gravel, made a sharp steering correction to the left, lost control after returning to the roadway and then made another sharp steering correction to the right.
The vehicle then overturned, slid on its roof across the highway and came to a rest after overturning back onto its wheels, investigators said.
Kutyna was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to the release. He had to be extricated from under the vehicle and was transported to UW Hospital.
