Police: Man facing 2nd OWI charge after driving through a ditch and overturning
DECATUR, Wis. — Police arrested a man who they say is facing his second OWI charge after he overturned his car Thursday night in Decatur.
Police arrested Scott R. Ryan, 27, of Belleville, for allegedly operating a vehicle while impaired, causing injury and driving too fast for conditions, officials said.
Ryan was driving on the N4800 block of County Road E when he swerved to avoid an object and went into a ditch, police said. He kept driving through the ditch and struck a driveway, causing the vehicle to become airborne and overturn, police said.
Ryan had a passenger with him, and both reported injuries, police said. They were both transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Ryan was released with a court date.
