Police: Man driving car stolen from Madison suspected in string of robberies, thefts
ST. PAUL, Minn. — A man found driving a car stolen from Madison is suspected in a string of robberies and thefts over eight days in the Madison area, police said.
Police said Tuesday afternoon that 45-year-old Rodney A. Keys was arrested recently in Minnesota following a foot chase with St. Paul police officers. Keys is accused of driving a car stolen from a Madison home on Kottke Drive April 3.
Police said Keys is also suspected of a series of crimes from April 3-11, including:
April 5: Subway restaurant robbery, 1814 W. Beltline Hwy.
April 6: Open Pantry robbery, 1412 Pflaum Road
April 6: Banzo Shuk restaurant robbery, 1151 Williamson St.
April 11: Associated Bank robbery, 4407 Cottage Grove Road
Keys is being held in Minnesota on a Dane County warrant for armed robbery and felony bail jumping.
Police said the man robbing Associated Bank passed a note claiming to have a gun.
According to the police report, Keys is homeless.
