Police looking for Tuesday night car theft suspect

MADISON, Wis. — Police say a man robbed a woman of her wallet and car downtown on Tuesday night.

Officers say they are looking for a 5 foot, 7 inch man between the ages of 30-40. He was wearing a blue hoodie and gray sweatpants during the confrontation.

According to the police report, a 30-year-old woman was walking to her car on West Washington Avenue around 10 p.m. Tuesday when the man approached her.

He demanded her purse and car keys. Police said he then physically removed the items from her and gave her a black eye through the struggle.

He drove off in the stolen car. It is a gray Infinity QX56 SUV.
