Police look for man who reportedly fired shots into air

Fitchburg police are investigating an incident Saturday night where shots were fired after a reported dispute, officials said.

Around 10:30 p.m. Fitchburg police were sent to the 2000 block of Pike Drive for a report of shots fired, according to a release.

Officers found several shell casings in a parking lot and surrounding areas, authorities said. Witnesses told police several shots were fired into the air by a man.

The man who allegedly fired the shots may have been involved in a dispute with a group that left the scene in a white Chevrolet Impala or similar vehicle, investigators said. The man fled from the scene on foot.

There are no reported injuries, victims or damage to property, according to the release.

The alleged shooter is described as a black man wearing a black sweatshirt with a cross design on the back and black pants.
