Police investigating morning gas station robberies
BP, PDQ robbed within 4 hours
MADISON, Wis. — Two Madison gas stations were robbed Saturday morning within four hours, according to police. The robberies took place about four miles apart, though police said they are not yet sure if the incidents are related.
One robbery took place at the PDQ on West Broadway about 7 a.m. Lt. Stephanie Bradley Wilson, a spokeswoman for the Madison Police Department, said a black man in his 30s showed the PDQ clerk a gun and demanded money.
Another robbery took place about four miles south at the BP gas station on Atwood Avenue at 11 a.m. Wilson could not confirm details about the suspect in the BP incident but said more information would be released later today.
Wilson said police investigating the two robberies are not yet sure if they are related.
A gas station in Fitchburg, located at 6208 McKee Rd., was also robbed Saturday morning at about 5 a.m; however, neither the Fitchburg police spokeswoman nor Wilson could say if the armed robbery in Fitchburg is connected with the Madison incidents.
