Police investigating double homicide at UW Arboretum, ask public to avoid area
MADISON, Wis. — Police are investigating a double homicide that happened at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum on Monday night, according to University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department Public Information Officer Marc Lovicott.
According to a news release, a jogger came across two individuals lying in a ditch around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police said a man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, a woman, was transported to a local hospital where she died a short time later.
Police are asking the public to avoid the Arboretum, especially the Wingra Street entrance.
