Person in custody as authorities investigate Green Co. infant’s death as homicide, ask for more help
ALABANY, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Justice announced Monday they are now investigating the death of a newborn girl who was reported missing in Albany on Saturday as a homicide, and says a person of interest has been taken into custody.
Green County Sheriff Jeff Skatrud and Albany Police Chief Robert Ritter said the infant was born on January 5 at a home in Albany and then taken from the home by the infant’s father. The infant was reported missing on January 9 and found dead on January 10.
Authorities are not saying who the person of interest they have in custody is, but they are asking for the public’s continued help in the investigation.
They are asking the public to review these image(s) of a person walking in Albany on Tuesday, January 5. Anyone who saw this person walking on this date or has any information about this person is asked to contact the Green County Sheriff’s Department at 608-328-9400.
Authorities say they expect to release more information about the investigation on Tuesday.
