Police investigate after West Side bank robbery

Police are investigating after a man robbed a West Side bank on Wednesday morning.

The man entered the AnchorBank West Towne branch on Westfield Road in Madison a little after 9 a.m. He gave a note to the teller that said he had a weapon and then demanded money, according to Madison police.

The robber fled the scene in a car. Police said it was possibly a silver Toyota Corolla.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police described the robber as about 25 to 30 years of age, wearing a Green Bay Packers baseball cap, sunglasses, a long-sleeved green and white plaid shirt and faded jeans.

Detectives believe it’s the same man who’s recently robbed banks in Madison, Middleton, Janesville and Rockford, Ill.

Police are asking people to call with any information.
