Police: Gunfire seen exchanged between cars
One car drove into oncoming lane to pull parallel with 2nd car
MADISON, Wis. — Police said gunfire was seen exchanged between people in cars on Madison’s west side late Monday.
The Madison Police Department said an off-duty officer witnessed gunfire between people in two cars that were traveling north on North Gammon Road toward Colony Drive at 11:28 p.m.
According to the report, the officer was a good distance behind the vehicles when he saw muzzle flashes. They took place as one car drove into an oncoming lane traffic lane to pull parallel with the second car.
Police said the officer attempted to catch up with the cars, but could not do so as both sped away at estimated speeds of 90 mph.
Police said there were no immediate reports of injuries or property damage.
