Police find dead, living alligators at home
Snakes, crocodile, Gila moster, turtle also found
KENOSHA, Wis. — Police have found a menagerie of exotic reptiles at a Kenosha home.
Officers were called to the home Monday to investigate a possible animal cruelty complaint. On Tuesday authorities returned to remove five Central American snakes, two American alligators, one crocodile, a Gila monster and an alligator snapping turtle from the house to the Racine Zoo.
Police also found a dead alligator and a large burned snake, as well as the carcass of a fawn and skeleton of another alligator in the backyard.
The other reptiles that are headed to the zoo were found inside the house, including a basement with a homemade indoor pond.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Kenosha police said no one was in custody Tuesday afternoon.
