Police: Drunken man damages about 20 mopeds
Witnesses told police man also urinated
MADISON, Wis. — A 20-year-old Madison man is accused of knocking over and damaging about 20 mopeds in downtown Madison early Thursday morning.
Madison police said witnesses saw James E. Golden Jr. knock over 20 mopeds that were parked next to apartment buildings University Avenue and North Bassett Street and urinate at about 12:07 a.m. Thursday.
Many of the mopeds were damaged, police said.
Police said Golden told officers he had been drinking at some parties. He told police that what he did was dumb and that he let the beer get to him, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.
Police said Golden was arrested on charges of damage to property, underage person consuming alcohol off of a licensed premise and depositing human waste.
