Police: Driver hits pedestrian, breaking walker’s leg, takes off
MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man suffered a broken leg when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday night, police said.
The Madison Police Department said a 25-year-old was walking in a crosswalk to cross East Washington Avenue at the intersection with North Baldwin Street when he was struck by a dark minivan.
The pedestrian had the walk light as he was crossing, according to the report.
The van that struck him took off, police said. Detectives have video evidence that might help them identify the driver.
The man suffered a broken leg and other non-life-threatening injuries, the report said.
