Police: DeForest teen confesses to crimes related to lewd, lascivious behavior, burglary incidents
DEFOREST, Wis. — A DeForest teenager is facing tentative charges in connection to several incidents that occurred within a four-hour window this weekend at the same home, police said.
The DeForest Police Department said an officer responded Saturday night to a report of suspicious activity in the 400 block of Valeria Drive.
According to the report, a resident showed officers home security video of a male dressed in a bathrobe engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior. It was learned that the male came to the residence at about 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Officers checked the area and weren’t able to find the suspect at that time, but officers found personal items that were later determined to possibly belong to him.
At approximately 1:45 a.m., officers returned to the same area for a report of a possible burglary, police said. It was reported that a resident awoke to see light from a flashlight in the hallway and the sound of the front door closing. During the investigation, a 17-year-old DeForest resident was identified as a person of interest.
Officers interviewed the teen and he confessed to multiple crimes, police said. He was arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail. DeForest police said charges have been referred to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office.
The DeForest Police Department said it believes the incident was isolated, and there is no danger to the community.
