Police: Cell phone store robbed at gunpoint
MADISON, Wis. — Police said an east Madison cell phone store was robbed at gunpoint Friday night.
Madison police said an employee from the Cricket Wireless store flagged an officer down at 7:51 p.m. saying the store had just been robbed.
Police said a man displayed a handgun at the store, 3638 E. Washington Ave., and was calm during the robbery. An undetermined amount of cash was taken.
Police were assisted by a K-9 unit search but did not locate the suspect.
According to the report, the robber was described as black, in his mid-20s, wearing dark clothing. He had the lower part of his face covered during the robbery.
