Police arrest two in Janesville after altercation leads to gunfire
JANESVILLE, Wis. — Police arrested two men after they got into a fight that led one of them to discharge their gun early Sunday morning.
According to a Janesville Police Department release, officers found Matthew Burr and Eugene Harp fighting near the intersection of North Atwood Avenue and East Wall Street. Then men were then detained. An investigation revealed that Burr had confronted Harp about his dog’s loud barking when the two got into a fight, which led Harp to fire his gun.
Burr was charged with substantial battery, while Harp was discovered to be a convicted felon and was charged with intoxicated use of a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.
