Police arrest man carrying loaded, concealed revolver
A Stoughton man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon last week after officers found a loaded gun on a south Madison street, police said.
Madison police said officers in the 5700 block of Russet Road Thursday at about 11 p.m. on a traffic stop when a man yelled to police that someone had pulled a gun on him.
Police said officers attempted to talk to three men nearby, and one, 19-year-old LaQuentin K. Banks, attempted to walk away from officers.
Officers checked Banks and found a loaded .22 caliber Ruger revolver pistol with five rounds in the cylinder.
Madison police spokesman Howard Payne said that through interviews officers believed Banks had been involved in a variety of other crimes, and he was taken into custody on multiple charges.
“It should be noted that Banks was already on probation, and has a felonious past,” Payne said.
Banks was arrested on suspicion of carrying concealed weapon, possession of firearm by felon, physical abuse of a child, probation violation and disorderly conduct.
The report also noted there were children in the area.
