Police arrest intoxicated man in tavern with a gun
BEETOWN, Wis. — Police arrested a Beetown man Thursday after receiving a report of a male subject who was in possession of a pistol in a local tavern, according to a news release.
The release said officers detained 60-year-old Brian Irish while they investigated the scene. Police eventually located the pistol outside where Irish had hidden it once he learned authorities had been called. According to the release, police discovered the gun was loaded and that Irish was intoxicated, as well as a convicted felon. Officials also found Irish in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Irish was arrested on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, carrying a handgun where alcoholic beverages may be sold and consumed, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said Irish was released on a signature bond following an initial court appearance.
