Police arrest Fitchburg homicide suspect
Police were searching for Dominique Hale
FITCHBURG, Wis. — Fitchburg police said they have arrested a suspect they were searching for in connection with a homicide.
Police said they arrested Dominique R. Hale, 25, at about 9:30 p.m. Monday after a short foot chase in the 1800 block of Reetz Road in the city of Madison.
Police said Hale was wanted in connection with the homicide of Willie Taylor, 39, of Sun Prairie, at 2005 Greenway Cross in the city of Fitchburg on Saturday.
Taylor’s death was “the result of injuries from an edged weapon” according to the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police said Hale forced his way into a Fitchburg apartment at Greenway Cross and Coho Street, killed Taylor and then hurt a woman.
A female victim suffered minor injuries and has been released from the hospital. Investigators said Hale knew the female victim and that the attack was not random.
Fitchburg police called Hale “armed and dangerous” as they were searching for him.
Police said Hale has a violent criminal history, pleading guilty in a 2007 Dane County case of torture and sexual assault.
The Fitchburg Police Department said it was assisted by the city of Madison Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service.
