Police arrest driver after car crashes into garage
21-year-old driver faces many charges
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a 21-year-old man Saturday after a car crashed into a home on the city’s north side.
Police said witnesses saw two cars engaged in a road rage incident in the area of Sherman and Aberg Avenues Saturday morning.
Then, just after 8 a.m., a car crashed into a garage on the 1800 block of Sheridan Street.
The driver had fled, but police caught Deonte Thompson a short time later.
Police said Thompson faces a long list of charges, including operating while intoxicated, hit and run, and reckless driving.
Police said the crash caused a minor gas leak, which Madison Gas and Electric handled without any incident.
No one was home at the time of the crash.
