Police arrest 4, seize guns, drugs during Fitchburg surveillance operation

Four men were arrested in Fitchburg Monday with guns and drugs, according to a release from Madison police.

Officials said the four men, 19-year-old Marquis D. Hamilton, of Fort Atkinson; 21-year-old Amond D. Galtney, of Chicago; 19-year-old Gordie J. Wright, of Fitchburg; and 20-year-old Demarko D. Richmond, of Fitchburg, were arrested around 10 a.m. during a surveillance operation in the 1900 block of Pike Drive.

Hamilton, Galtney and Wright were arrested for probation violations. Richmond was arrested on a tentative charge of felon in possession of a firearm.

Ongoing investigations into weapons cases and drug trafficking, led by the Dane County Narcotics Task Force, are continuing in connection with the arrests, officials said.

According to the release, additional charges are expected.
