Police: Armed, intoxicated Baraboo man arrested
BARABOO, Wis. — Police arrested an armed and intoxicated Baraboo man early Sunday morning.
The Baraboo Police Department said officers were sent to the 800 block of Walnut Street at 12:40 a.m. after receiving a report of a drunken man who was armed and acting strangely.
A woman told police that Jared R. Porter, 29, of Baraboo, made statements about going to jail and shooting officers. Several children were reported to have been in the house when he allegedly made the statement.
Porter was arrested on charges of criminal damage to property and domestic disorderly conduct.
The Sauk County Emergency Response Team and crisis negotiations team checked on the family’s well-being, with the woman and children all being found safe. Porter was brought into custody without incident.
