Police: Alcohol, icy roads possible factors in crash
TOWN OF RUBICON, Wis. — A 33-year-old Neosho man suffered serious injuries in a crash in eastern Dodge County early Sunday morning, Sheriff Dale Schmidt said.
Schmidt said in a news release that deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of County Highway P and Grant Road in the town of Rubicon around 3:23 a.m. A preliminary investigation found the driver, Paul A. Bertz, lost control of his 2007 Lincoln sedan, rolled into the ditch and was ejected.
Deputies found Bertz at a nearby home, and first responders took him to Aurora Hospital in Hartford, Schmidt said.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash, but alcohol and icy roads are believed to be factors, Schmidt said.
