Police: 14-year-old passenger in vehicle of repeat OWI offender
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A Janesville man is facing his third OWI charge and a felony charge for driving while intoxicated with a passenger under 16.
A Rock County Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed a Dodge Caravan with a defective brake lamp during routine patrol Friday morning, police said. The deputy noticed a slight odor of intoxicants and asked the suspect to perform a sobriety test, which he failed, police said.
There was a 14-year-old passenger in the car so, in addition to his 3rd OWI charge, Joseph D. Rucker, 42, is facing a felony charge for driving under the influence of intoxicants with a passenger under the age of 16.
Rucker was transported to the Rock County Jail, where he will be held until his appearance in court on Monday at 3 p.m.
