A 14-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday for breaking until a locked vehicle and stealing a wallet, Madison police said.

The teen allegedly used a rock to break a window of a car parked in the Memorial High School parking lot around 2 p.m., according to a release.

Security staff members saw the incident and called police, officials said.

The 14-year-old was arrested just after getting a bus, according to the release. He was taken to the juvenile reception center on a tentative charge of entry into a locked vehicle.

The student whose car was broken into told police her wallet was stolen from the vehicle.
