Police: $1,200 worth of merchandise purchased with stolen card
Stoughton woman jailed on suspicion of fraud
MADISON, Wis. — Police said a Stoughton woman was arrested Thursday after a stolen credit card was used at East Towne Mall for purchases a totaling more than $1,200.
According to the report, the credit card company contacted the card holder, a 43-year-old Stoughton woman, regarding “inappropriate charge activity.” The Madison Police Department said an officer identified another Stoughton woman on surveillance video making purchases with the stolen card at multiple Madison-area stores Tuesday.
Madison resident Myisha Britt, 31, was arrested on suspicion of credit card theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and forgery-uttering documents.
According to the police report, Britt initially denied all wrong doing but later said she found the credit card.
Britt was taken to Dane County Jail Thursday.
