Pocan has cash edge in District 2 race
Lee raised $72,000 this year
MADISON, Wis. — State Rep. Mark Pocan has raised just over $1 million in his effort to succeed fellow Democrat Tammy Baldwin in Congress.
Pocan and Republican Chad Lee are running for the House seat Baldwin occupied since 1998. The 2nd District represents reliably Democratic areas including Madison and surrounding areas.
Pocan’s most recent fundraising report shows he raised about $42,000 from Oct. 1 to Oct. 17. That gave him a total of $1.1 million raised in the entire election cycle. After expenses, he has about $112,000 cash on hand.
That gives him a substantial edge over Lee, who reported raising a total of $72,000 all year. Lee’s campaign said he had about $8,500 in the bank as of last week.
Baldwin gave up her seat to run for the Senate.
