Platteville has a ‘Happy Homecoming’
Pioneers beat River Falls 24-14
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — Platteville made their Homecoming a happy one Saturday at Pioneer Stadium as they defeated River Falls 24-14.
The Poineers started the game hot, as Andy Puccini scored from three yards out to give Platteville a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Puccini carried the ball 29 times for 119 yards and scored three touchdowns.
River Falls responded in the second quarter when Ryan Kusilek hooked up with Jordan Christianson for a 13-yard score to tie things at 7-7.
From there, Platteville took off. A field goal before halftime gave the Pioneers a 10-7 lead. In the second half, Puccini scored two one-yard touchdowns to put Platteville ahead 24-7.
In the fourth quarter, Christianson caught another touchdown to make it 24-14. That’s as close as the Falcons would get as Platteville won the game 24-14.
