Platteville Country Club to pay $12,000 in fines
Complaint: Club violated several state wetland laws
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The Platteville Golf and Country Club has to pay $12,000 in fines for violations of Wisconsin’s water and wetland protection laws.
According to a complaint, the country club illegally filled a stream that’s a tributary to the Little Platte River, graded the bed and banks and illegally filled nearby wetlands.
Club officials did this all while trying to expand the golf course, according to the complaint.
On top of the fine, the country club has removed the fill and restored the site.
