A Beaver Dam man was sentenced to nine years in prison Thursday for robbing a pizzeria earlier this year.

District Attorney Kurt Klomberg’s office said in a news release that in addition to the prison sentence, 35-year-old Kyle Rach was sentenced to nine years of extended supervision.

According to the release, March 2018, Rach walked into a Marcos Pizza in Maple Avenue in Beaver Dam, threatened the employee with a gun and demanded the money. He left with $111.

Police said Rach admitted that he was on a crack cocaine binge prior to and during the robbery. According to the release, Rach told police he robbed the pizzeria to get drug money.

Rach has had multiple prior felony convictions relating to illegal drugs and property crimes, the district attorney’s office said. Rach had been released from prison four weeks before he robbed Marcos Pizza.
