Pipe damaged by bullet causes water leak at Madison apartment, police say
Wednesday night, maintenance workers were sent to an apartment on South Gammon Road in response to water leaking from a damaged pipe, according to the Madison Police Department.
Police say when the maintenance workers located the pipe, they noticed the damage was unlike anything they had seen and suspected it may have been caused by a bullet.
MPD was called to the scene and officers confirmed that the damage was caused by a bullet.
Police say the resident of the apartment claims to not own a gun, but says it could have been his roommate who caused the damage.
Madison police have not yet inquired about the damages with the roommate.
