Pilot recovering after small plane crash in Jefferson County
Federal safety agencies are investigating after a small plane crashed Saturday evening in Jefferson County.
The pilot suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The plane crashed shortly before 6 p.m. on Beryl Drive in the Township of Watertown. The initial investigation shows that the 1978 single engine Cessna was approaching the Watertown Airport for a landing when it lost engine power and crashed through some trees, coming to rest on a private property.
The Federal Aviation Administration, along with the National Safety Bureau are behind the investigation.
