Phyllis Wolfe

MADISON – Phyllis Ann (Weisenberger) Wolfe, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at Oak Park Place. She was born on June 4, 1933, to Ralph and Martha (Perkins) Weisenberger. Phyllis married Marvin Walter Wolfe on Oct. 15, 1955, in Arcadia, Wis. She leaves behind a loving and devoted husband of 64 years. They had five children, Greg, Sandy, Jeff, Mark and Todd.

Phyllis and Marvin started their life together in Arcadia, Wis., living in the Harry Stagg Apts. and then purchasing a 5-acre farm in Arcadia. They raised broiler chickens, a few cattle, grew corn and had lots of cats. They cherished 10 years on the farm until Marvin, who worked for the Green Bay and Western RR, was transferred to the railroad station in Wisconsin Rapids.

Phyllis enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life; fishing, golfing, bowling, gardening, canning and crafts. She very much enjoyed finding a good bargain. Phyllis was quite a character with a strong will and spunk. Mom was the disciplinarian when she needed to be, and Dad was the softie. She found great satisfaction in working with the elderly and underserved as a nursing assistant and friend. They lived in Wisconsin Rapids for over 50 years. In 2016, they moved to Madison to be closer to family.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Marvin; her children, Sandra (Kent) Buhler, Greg Wolfe, Jeff (Karen) Wolfe and Todd (Brenda) Wolfe; grandchildren, Jim (Kyla) Bahler, Jared (Stephanie) Wolfe, Sam Bahler, Megan (Drew) Pittman, Kylynn Wolfe and Ben Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Mae and Audrey; brothers, Jim (Audrey) Weisenberger, George (Shirley) Weisenberger and Jack (Barb) Weisenberger; sisters, Marge (Harvey) Arnold, Barb (Carl) Rapp, Jeanette Goodman and Mary Kay (Nathan) Abts; and many nieces and nephews.
