Photo of Wisconsin bus driver holding boy’s hand on first day goes viral
AUGUSTA, Wis. — The Augusta police department shared a photo on Facebook Sept. 5 showing a bus driver comforting a scared boy on his first day of school.
According to WLUK , Amy Johnson, the mother of Axel, who is shown in the photo, said her son was excited to start 4K. But when the school bus came around the corner, his mood changed. As the bus doors opened up, Axel clung to his mom, crying. Johnson sat him down behind the bus driver, and that’s when the bus driver, Miss Lane, grabbed his hand to help comfort him.
“The compassion we see every day in our teachers, bus drivers, custodians, administration, food service staff, and paraprofessionals is truly admirable,” the Facebook post said. “We are so fortunate to be able to partner with these people!”
