Photo equipment reported stolen in smash-and-grab burglary

MADISON, Wis. — Photography equipment was reported stolen from an east Madison store in a smash-and-grab burglary Monday morning, police said.
The Madison Police Department said police responded to an alarm at 2:20 a.m. at The Camera Company, 4232 East Towne Blvd. Officers found glass from the front window and several display cases shattered.
Surveillance video shows a person in dark clothing using a hammer to gain access to cameras and merchandise, according to the report.
A store manager told police that inventory would need to be reviewed, but an estimated $15,000 worth of merchandise was missing.
