Person walking on Interstate 94 hit, killed by vehicle
Pedestrian was in lane of eastbound interstate Saturday night
SULLIVAN, Wis. — A person who was walking on Interstate 94 in Jefferson County Saturday night was hit and killed by a vehicle, according to a release.
Around 11:25 p.m. a crash happened on Interstate 94 in the eastbound lanes west of Willow Glen Road in Jefferson County, officials said.
A pedestrian walking in one of the lanes of the eastbound interstate was hit by a vehicle, investigators said. A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper and a Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy were unable to resuscitate the pedestrian, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian remained on scene, according to the release. The four occupants in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 94 were shut down at County Road F in Jefferson County until just before 2:45 a.m., deputies said.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating and reconstructing the incident.
