Officials identify man killed after being hit by car on East Washington Avenue

MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the name of the man who died after being hit by a car on East Washington Avenue over the weekend.

A news release said Ashley Taylor, 37, of Madison, was hit by a car heading east just past the Stoughton Road intersection near Hy-Vee at about 9:42 p.m. Saturday. Taylor is better known to his friends as Cameron.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner’s office completed a forensic examination Monday. Preliminary results confirmed Taylor died from injuries suffered in the crash.

Further testing is underway. Madison police and the medical examiner’s office are also continuing to investigate the death.
