Person injured in shooting in town of Beloit, police say

BELOIT, Wis. — A person suffered a gunshot wound in a shooting in the town of Beloit Thursday afternoon, the town’s police department said.

In a news release, police said they responded to a report of a disturbance in the 3000 block of South Park Avenue just before 3:10 p.m. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had left the area.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police did not provide details about the extent of the victim’s injuries.

A road rage incident that started roughly 50 minutes earlier in the city of Beloit is related to the incident, police added.

The release said police have identified the suspects involved and that there is no danger to the public.
