OAK GROVE, Wis. — Authorities say one person has been flown to the hospital after a head-on crash with a semi Friday morning in Dodge County.

The crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. Friday on Highway 33, east of Sunset Road in the Township of Oak Grove outside of Beaver Dam.

Authorities say their initial investigation indicates someone driving a 2012 Honday was driving west on Highway 33 when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on with a Kenworth semi truck that was driving east.

The person driving the Honda suffered severe injuries in the crash and was flown to Aurora Hospital in Summit. The driver of the semi was not hurt, but a passenger in the truck did have minor injuries.

Highway 33 was closed in both directions for nearly 4 hours while authorities investigated, but reopened at approximately 10:30 a.m.

The Wisconsin State Patrol helped the Dodge County Sheriff’s office at the scene, alone with paramedics from Beaver Dam, Juneau EMS, the Dodge County Highway Department, Dodge County Emergency Response Team, and fire departments from Horicon and Juneau.
