Peralta, Lucroy help Brewers beat Mets, 3-1
Milwaukee wins for ninth time in 14 games
NEW YORK — Wily Peralta pitched into the seventh inning and Jonathan Lucroy had three hits to give the Milwaukee Brewers a 3-1 win over the New York Mets Wednesday night at Citi Field.
Immediately after the game, Peralta headed home to the Dominican Republick to take care of some “family business”, manager Ron Roenicke said. Peralta will rejoin the team this weekend.
Lucroy doubled twice and drove in a run as he raised his season’s batting average to .341.
Carlos Gomez and Jean Segura each added RBI as Mets pitcher Jacob deGroom (0-3) threw 107 pitches in less than six innings of work.
The Brewers have won nine of their last 14 games.
