Pedestrian struck in Highway 73 crash
Walker taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
TOWN OF YORK, Wis. — A pickup truck struck a pedestrian walking along Highway 73 Wednesday night, according to Dane County Sheriff Department officials.
The pedestrian was walking along State Highway 73 in the Town of York in Dane County around 10 p.m. Wednesday night. The southbound pickup swerved to try to avoid the walker but hit the person.
At the same time, a tractor-trailer was traveling northbound, according to a department press release. The pickup driver was also trying to avoid hitting the tractor-trailer at the same time as the pedestrian crash.
Med-Flight was called to the scene to transport the pedestrian.
Investigators wish to speak with the driver of the tractor-trailer. That person, or anyone with information on the crash, is asked to call the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Tipster Hotline at 608-284-6900.
