Pedestrian killed in rural Sauk Co. crash identified
BARABOO, Wis. — The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office has identified the pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle in the eastern part of the county Wednesday morning.
Nataliya Kasiyan, 42, of Park Ridge, Illinois, died at the scene of the crash on Durwards Glen Road near Luebke Road in the town of Greenfield around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office said a 30-year-old driver from Merrimac was heading north on Durwards Glen Road in a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox when they hit the pedestrian, who was heading south on the eastbound side of the road. The driver called 911 to report the crash and has been cooperating with the investigation.
The road was closed for several hours while crews investigated the crash.
A news release from the sheriff’s office did not say whether the driver was injured.
