Pearl Esther Tucker
Middleton/Tucker, Pearl Esther (Barnett) of Middleton, WI passed away on July 1, 2014, at age 88.
She was the devoted wife of the late Emanuel J. Tucker, Sr. Pearl was born on October 30, 1925 in Dallas, TX, the only child of the late Joseph and Rosetta (Devareaux) Barnett. Seeking a better life, the family moved to Chicago and there she met and married Emanuel Joel Tucker on April 17, 1943. Their marriage lasted 70 years. In 1960, the family moved to Milwaukee where she worked in the Milwaukee School System and as a case worker in an assisted living facility. In retirement Emanuel and Pearl moved to Mequon, WI where Pearl volunteered at the St. Mary – Ozaukee Hospital and at Goodwill Industries where she received plaques of appreciation for her service. In 2006, Emanuel and Pearl moved to the Attic Angel Community in Middleton, WI. Emanuel passed away in April 2013.
Pearl is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws Emanuel Jr. and Rose Marie and Calvin and Rita; grandchildren Marjorie Lynum, Adrienne Tucker, Calvin Tucker Jr., Elise Cooper and Sharon Gaskins; great-grandchildren Joshua Lynum, Justin, Jared, Jefferson, Jada and Jackson Cooper, Mikayla Gaskins, Bryon and Jasmine Tucker and Alayna and Trenten Tucker; and great-great-grandchildren Jatayla and Jahayla Lentz. Pearl is also survived by many dear relatives and cherished friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. at GATEWAY COMMUNITY CHURCH, 3510 High Road, Middleton, WI with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison.
